Tonight’s show really was all about a man called George.
George sat in the front row and replied to my early questions with a voice so gravelly it would make Vinnie Jones sound like a soprano.
George was with his son Jack, and wife Betty. I knew that because he told me “Betty’s from Melbourne” in a voice so ominous it would make Darth Vader feel like a girl scout.
After scouring the room for a more threatening accent and finding none (although I did find an Aussie who worked in “Maaahketing”) I called George to the stage, and wrote out a script. I thought I would get George to read out a promo for me to be used on my showreel, and asked the audience for the occasional word. As you are about to see, they didn’t take it seriously, and seemed to delight in making jokes about my artificial foot.
Firstly though, George asked me to take a photo of the audience, so I did. They all posed and said the word “Maaaahketing”
Then George recorded a promo, a speech that started with the phrase “Once upon a time, there was a man, but not just any man…”
I asked audience members to film it and upload to youtube, and thus far the only footage I have found is here www.youtube.com/watch?v=B2TlTG6Byws&hd=1
If you read last night’s showblog, you’ll know that I tried to send a sexy text to an audience member’s (Emily’s) boyfriend by the name of Adam. As a follow up I called Emily to see how it went and she said “not well’. I then recorded George leaving a sexy message to Adam on my phone in then hope that Emily could play it to him to get him in the mood.
You can hear it here: 20101015 223016
Finally I asked for a photo of George, who immediately posed with his son Jack for the shot:
And he was the star of the show.
Sorry for a delayed blog posting, time has gotten the better of me the last few days. Saturday’s blog to follow.

18.10.2010 at 10:34First off, great show ,George was amazing, my attempt at an ‘Australian accent’ however was not! Nevertheless, you made my little sister’s year by insinuating was not attractive as the rest of the audience, so all’s good there!
Glad to see my efficiency in directly uploading the footage of George to Youtube from my phone after recording it paid off! I think I missed the first couple of seconds though, for which I apologise!
